8th Pay Commission pension rules: Why employee and pensioner bodies want faster restoration of commuted pension

Central government pensioners and employee associations want the 8th Pay Commission to reduce the 15-year commuted pension restoration period to 10–12 years. They argue that changing interest rates, longer life expectancy and lower mortality have made the existing 15-year rule outdated.
