Aadhaar Goes Global? UIDAI Chairperson Neelkanth Mishra On Face Authentication & Global Use

Aadhaar could be headed for a much bigger role in the digital ecosystem. UIDAI Chairperson Neelkanth Mishra explains how the new Software Development Kit (SDK) can allow Aadhaar face authentication to be embedded into more user applications, potentially expanding use cases significantly. Mishra also discusses the possibility of Aadhaar being used outside India in the future. But as Aadhaar’s digital footprint expands, cybersecurity remains a critical priority. Mishra says UIDAI faces hundreds of cyberattacks every day and is using AI, liveness detection and advanced safeguards to stay ahead of evolving threats.
