CPCL, MRPL shares surge up to 15%; why are these refiners gaining?

CPCL shares surged 14.62 per cent to close at Rs 1,611.70, while MRPL stock climbed 4.73 per cent to Rs 182.85 level. Antelopus Selan Energy Ltd and Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (HOEC) were also trading higher in fag-end deals, with gains of up to 3.40 per cent.
