India-Canada Trade Deal Nears Breakthrough As Carney Confirms Modi Visit

India and Canada appear to be making progress on a potential trade deal. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said negotiations with India are moving forward and described the relationship as important across trade, economic and security ties. Carney said he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had committed to concluding negotiations around the G20 this year, scheduled for December 14-15. He also said he expects PM Modi to visit Canada around the G20 and that he looks forward to hosting him.
