India Wants To Build Chips For The World: Applied Materials On Semiconductor Mission 2.0

India is stepping up its semiconductor ambitions, with Semiconductor Mission 2.0 focused on building a stronger chip ecosystem. Prabu Raja, President of the Semiconductor Products Group at Applied Materials, says the vision goes beyond simply manufacturing chips in India. He highlights three key pillars - expanding R&D, integrating the semiconductor ecosystem and developing more talent. Raja says the broader goal is to “invent in India for the world” and “make in India for the world”. He also believes India is moving in the right direction, backed by its deep talent pool.
