PM Modi Calls For Urgent UN Security Council Reform At BRICS Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said reform of the United Nations Security Council can no longer be delayed. Speaking at the BRICS Summit 2026, he called for task-based negotiations on UNSC reform with a defined timeline and clear outcomes. PM Modi also stressed that voting power, leadership positions and policy priorities in global financial institutions must reflect today’s economic realities. He said countries driving global economic growth should have an appropriate role in shaping global economic governance.
