On the eve of World Investor Week, SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey shared five important habits for investors to build smarter and safer investing practices. He urged investors to beware of investment frauds and rely only on regulated products, channels and entities instead of anonymous tips, finfluencers or exaggerated return claims. Pandey also advised investors to invest only in products they understand, start early and stay invested to benefit from compounding, diversify their portfolios and never assume that fixed returns are risk-free. His key message: investors should focus on their financial goals rather than simply chasing the highest returns. Speaking at the launch of Project Jagrook in Chandigarh, Pandey also encouraged investors to approach SEBI's local office for information, questions and suggestions related to the securities market.
