Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the importance of books and reading among young people in today’s digital age. Speaking in Lucknow, Yogi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the Ministry of Education is promoting book festivals to connect India’s ancient knowledge traditions with modern learning. He noted concerns over young people spending increasing time on social media and digital platforms, but said the event challenged the perception that today’s youth no longer read. According to Yogi, young people are interested in books, but efforts are needed to make books more accessible and ensure they reach readers across the country.
