UPI MDR: No rollback of 0.4% fee above Rs 2,000; govt says move will make UPI self-sustainable

The government has ruled out any rollback of the proposed 0.4% MDR on UPI merchant transactions above Rs 2,000, despite Opposition criticism and protests from traders. The new charge will apply from October 15, while customers will continue to make UPI payments free of charge.
